Marché Turenne was founded by Mr. Turenne in 1974. At that time, Mr. Turenne ran a grocery store in Lachine. Several of his friends worked in Nunavik and they started ordering their grocery at Marché Turenne and have it delivered to the villages where they worked. Word of mouth did the rest! And so began the delivery in Northern Canada for Marché Turenne.
Our mission? Support you in your desire for a varied diet. Even far away, we are close to you and your needs. Your grocery will be delivered to your home.
Marché Turenne has at heart the different communities of Northern Canada. This is why, for several years, we have been the sponsors of various community organizations and activities including:
The Ivakkak Dogsled Race which is a major event in Nunavik. The race runs through several villages, and the whole community takes part.
The Puvirnituq Snow Festival and the Aqpik Jam Festival in Kuujjuaq are major events in which several local and international stars participate.
We also offer several donations for village activities throughout the year.
